Camerata Recorder Quartet to perform at St. Paul’s on Christmas Eve 2016

The Camerata Recorder QuartetThe Camerata Recorder Quartet will perform a Christmas program, Let There Be Peace On Earth, in costumes, Saturday, December 24 at 10:30 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (1659 St. Paul’s Road, Edneyville, NC 28727).

The program contains music from the 13th though the 20th centuries, written by composers from Europe and the United States. It will include madrigals, a suite of Klezmer music, and popular carols, performed on 8 sizes of recorders, as well as crumhorns, Baroque flute, bells, and percussion.

The concert will conclude with three jazzy American Carols and The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.

The Camerata Recorder Quartet – Rita Black, Sharen Hafner, Carol Kronus and Susan McCann – are also members of a larger early music ensemble, Musicke Antiqua, which offers summer and winter programs in the Brevard/Hendersonville/Asheville areas.
